Breaking the Code

By Hugh Whitemore
Based on the book Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges

Directed by Tom Mackan
Produced by Michelle Spanik

The story of the forgotten hero of Britain's victory in the battle of the Atlantic, Alan Turing. Brilliant mathematician and cryptanalyst, Turing was recruited to the famous Bletchley Park at the beginning of WW2 and there invented an intricate machine for decoding the infamous Nazi Enigma Code. Shrouded for generations in secrecy, his heroic work went unheralded until this generation. Sadly, his unhappy personal life did not benefit from the same secrecy. This play brings you the people and events of his life, and reveals the betrayal of a moralistic society that owed a great debt of gratitude to this man.
